UN Young Professionals Exam – September Deadline

The United Nations is now accepting applicants for its annual Young Professionals Program Exam, formerly known as the UN National Competitive Recruitment Examination. The exam is offered to candidates who meet several criteria and to those who are interested in junior professional posts at the UN. The criteria for eligible applicants are as follows:

  •  Must be below the age of 32 as of December 31st, 2011
  • Must have at least an undergraduate degree (advanced degree is advantageous, but not required) in one of the following subjects, or in a related field:
    • Administration
    • Humanitarian Affairs
    • Public Information
    • Statistics
  • Must be fluent in English and/or French. Knowledge of additional official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) may be an advantage.

The deadline for applications is September 10th, 2011. The exam will be given on December 7th, 2011 in New York City and possibly in another location as well.

Travel expenses to and from the exam will not be provided by the UN or by the US government.
